Society of Forge of Creation

The Annunukai societal structure was very ancient when they arrived and had served them on their homeworld for millions of years into the distant past. Their system was made up of 4 self-chosen castes, each caste having a voice in the government as individuals. However, when they started off into space exploration and ultimately engaged in mining operations on distant star systems, the obvious advantages of the first three castes caused very few to ever choose to be workers. This problem worsened and entry into the worker caste became rare.

Eventually the work fell to those most adept and strong, the Warriors.

The Engineers tried to make the work easier to bear by producing devices and genetically programming beasts to perform specific duties, though none of their creations were able to think for themselves. Consequently, the Warrior caste became workers and supervisors by default. They began to complain. This complaining caused a dissent group to form, calling themselves the Sons of Darkness (the darkness being that found in mines and work areas) and calling judges and engineers the Sons of Light, since they were allowed to stay outside their mines and bask in the sunlight all day.

Because of rigid standards of conduct, the warrior caste would never openly sanction the use of any projectile weapon. The concept of equal jeopardy of combatants renders this kind of weapon dishonorable. Therefore, edged weapons such as the sword, spear, and axe were more common. However, there are instances where compression (such as gunpowder) weapons may be used by one of the other castes in the event of self-defense.

There were also historical cases where flamethrowers, siege engines or catapults, static discharge guns, and the atomic bomb were used during war or to effect crowd control. This dishonorable means of destruction was eventually used during the war in the heavens between the sons of darkness and the sons of light.

Mankind (technical)

According to Earth's ancient records, the original common usage of the term "Man" meant to describe the godlike Annunukai and great Nephilim leaders. Other, lesser beings, or hybrid Hu-men are described as the "Sons of men" or "men". There is a distinct division between "Man" and "Men" as written in these records. "Man" therefore, was commonly meant to refer to the Annunukai people, while "Men", or "Sons of Men", referred collectively to the race of beings who evolved on earth as Cro-Magnons, but were later enhanced by the Annunukai. All direct hybrids between men and Man were called the Nephilim.

After a time, men proved smarter and more easily trained than expected, and were used to hunt down and capture more Neandertals, supervise them, and make ore deliveries to Aleph despite the initial inability to get work out of the Neandertals in the mines due to their lack of understanding of basic work, eventually, they were included in a breeding and genetics program to see if they could be modified to become a new and permanent worker class.

One aspect of the genetics program was to reinvent the nervous systems of Cro-Magnons so that they could develop the capabilities of speech and reasoning necessary to allow these beings to work in the mines with much less supervision. This effort involved splitting the chromosomes from the gene and replacing certain ones with those from Man, then going back and replacing sections of the DNA strand for each replaced chromosome with key sections from the original chromosome, as necessary to merge and replicate. In the end, three chromosomes were completely removed, since they were unnecessary after the modification, while seven were replaced, and one added with those chromosomes from Man. This left the new being with two less chromosomes than they started with. (See the parallels in the Bible's book of Revelations of the beast with the seven horns and reference genetic data on the difference in number of chromosomes between ape and human. In other words, when a species evolves to become more advanced over time, the genetic code becomes more complicated. If this is true, then why does a chimpanzee have two more chromosomes than humans?). A chief lord at the time thought it fitting to call the beasts, 'Hu-Men".

Some of the intentional modifications to the new beings, now called Hu-men, were the following:

Some unauthorized modifications that were a result of the tampering done by the Sons of Darkness were the following:

General decrease in the fear factor as experienced by Hu-men subjects. This was accomplished by modifying an existing chromosome that generally regulates the fight-or-flight reaction to trigger endorphin production at the same time adrenaline levels shoot up. This modification is also known as the Megalomania bug and has been attributed to the cause of immortality delusions and feelings of superiority. There was also some very limited success in linking this feature to the telepathic chromosome to utilize the loyalty and disconnect side-effects of that modification to provide a force of loyal warriors under the telepathic command of the Warrior caste.

These results were modified significantly in females, due to the presence of the cycle of reproductive hormones in the female endocrine structure. During certain points of the reproductive cycle, endorphin production is modified while high adrenaline levels are triggered by little if any stimulus. In females having the tie-in to the telepathic chromosome, the results are spontaneous irrational delusions of danger and anger. Conversely, during other parts of the reproductive cycle, no adrenaline is produced even in the face of danger, making the subject complacent, and unwilling to fight or flight. One other side effect was that the whole process is modified further during pregnancy. Most endophrin production is limited to the extremeties rather than the reproductive organs which would be typical of an unmodified female, together with the enlarged head size of the modified child, causing extreme pain in birth. These side effects make the females undesireable warriors.
